Lenticular printing, cold foil, spot UV, embossing and debossing change how a product looks or feels. Compare the effects before preparing the artwork.

01 / LENTICULAR PRINTING

Images that change with the angle.

Lenticular printing combines specially prepared images with a lens surface. A change in viewing angle can reveal depth, switch between images or create an impression of movement. Effects include flip, morph, animation, zoom and depth.

Depth: Plan the foreground, middle distance and background to create a sense of depth.
Flip: Choose the images and the viewing direction for the change between them.
Motion: Prepare a short sequence of images, then review it for the chosen product format.

02 / COLD FOIL

Add metallic detail.

Cold foil adds reflective metallic areas to a printed design. Use it for a small accent, a fine line or a larger part of the artwork.

Fuchen has an eight-colour Roland 700 press with coating and cold-foil capability. Plan the foil areas together with the rest of the printed artwork.

03 / SURFACE DETAIL

Gloss and texture.

Spot UV: A glossy coating applied to selected areas creates a contrast in surface shine.
Embossing: Selected parts of the surface are raised to add a tactile detail.
Debossing: Selected parts of the surface are pressed down to create a recessed detail.

Choose finishes to suit the material, artwork and product structure, then confirm the combination with a sample.

04 / ARTWORK BRIEF

Agree on the result before the artwork.

Describe the product and the effect you want before finalising the artwork. This helps determine which images, layers and specifications are needed.

Application: What is being made, and where will it be used?
Viewing: For lenticular printing, specify the viewing direction, distance and intended image changes.
Artwork: Let us know which images or layered source files you already have.
Specification: Specify dimensions, quantity, destination and the target delivery date.
